Qualifications

  • NICET II certification in water-based systems.
  • 3+ years as Fire Sprinkler Inspector/Technician.
  • Portland Fitness/Fire Extinguisher licenses and sprinkler certs.
  • Backflow certification and fire extinguisher cert.
  • NFPA 10/25/72 knowledge; fire alarm components awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test water-based fire protection systems.
  • Assess systems for deficiencies and issues.
  • Prepare inspection reports and documentation accurately.
  • Interact with customers and building reps professionally.
  • Maintain knowledge of codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Inspect related fire alarm components as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures and ensure accuracy.
  • Travel between customer sites and manage daily priorities.

Our client is a well-established and growing fire protection contractor serving businesses and communities throughout the Pacific Northwest. With a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and technical expertise, the company provides comprehensive fire sprinkler solutions from initial planning through final project completion.

Compensation: $35-$45/hr DOE

Availability: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Are you a detail-oriented fire protection professional who takes pride in helping keep people, properties, and businesses safe? Our client is seeking a motivated Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join their growing team. In this role, you will inspect and test fire sprinkler and other fire protection systems, ensuring work is completed accurately and in accordance with applicable codes and standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge, exceptional customer service skills, and a desire to build a long-term career in the life safety industry.

Job Duties:

  • Perform inspections and testing of fire sprinkler and water-based fire protection systems.
  • Conduct thorough system evaluations and identify potential deficiencies or areas needing attention.
  • Complete inspection reports, testing documentation, and other required records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work directly with customers and building representatives while providing professional and responsive service.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of applicable fire protection codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Inspect and work with related fire alarm components, panels, devices, and other critical life safety equipment as needed.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and maintain high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Travel between customer locations and work independently while managing daily responsibilities and priorities.

Qualifications:

  • NICET Level II certification in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Fire Sprinkler Inspector/Technician.
  • Portland Certificate of Fitness Fire Extinguisher License; Sprinkler certification.
  • Backflow prevention device certification.
  • Fire extinguisher certification.
  • Portland Certificate of Fitness and/or Fire Extinguisher License.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 10, NFPA 25, and NFPA 72.
  • Oregon Limited Energy Technician (LEA) License.
  • Washington State E06 certification is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm panels, devices, and other critical system components.
  • Self-motivated, customer service-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience completing detailed inspection reports and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency using personal computers and digital reporting systems.
