Job description

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Inspector to provide inspection and maintenance capabilities. This position will work closely with our sales team, field project teams, and clients to ensure customer systems are inspected and maintained in a code‑compliant manner. Attention to detail, communication skills, and effective human relations are essential to this role.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Reviewing system layouts and coordinating with systems and service departments for successful project execution.
• Communicating and coordinating with onsite contractors.
• Producing field surveys and daily project activity logs.
• Inspecting and maintaining fire sprinkler systems.
• Producing detailed inspection and deficiency reports in accordance with NFPA.
• Delivering projects on schedule and within cost budgets.
• Logging and transmitting inspection reports via laptop computers.
• Overseeing project inventory and vehicle inventory.
• Providing support, guidance, and expertise to other inspectors.
• Managing job scheduling and progress efficiently and cost‑effectively with a strong focus on quality.
• Complying with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs and policies.

WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Fire and Life Safety industry.
• Currently enrolled in the Sprinkler Apprentice Program.
• Strong understanding of sprinkler system components and how they work, including wet, dry, and pre‑action systems, backflows, and fire pumps.
• Experience with the installation of underground piping is preferred.
• Basic understanding of NFPA 13.
• NICET Level I Certification or equivalent.
• Product‑specific certifications as determined by the business.
• Certified in backflow inspection and repair is preferred.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.
• Will use electronic devices and software for inspection reports and other duties.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to obtain OSHA 10 Certification.
• Customer‑focused; skilled in project and people management.
• Good organizational, decision‑making, and communication skills.
• Physical fitness to lift up to 25 pounds, occasional lifts up to 50 pounds, work at heights, climb ladders, and stand/walk for most of the workday.
• Ability to travel occasionally overnight as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• NICET Certification desired but not required.
