Job summary

Century Fire Protection is seeking a field inspector in Ocala, FL to perform testing and inspection of water-based sprinkler systems, read blueprints, troubleshoot deficiencies and document findings. The role requires 2–3 years of relevant experience and knowledge of NFPA standards; NICET II/III and Backflow certification are preferred.

You will coordinate with the Service Manager/Inspections Coordinator to ensure work aligns with proposed scope, and may require pre-employment drug screening,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years inspecting fire sprinkler systems or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards for inspection, testing and installation.
• NICET II or III certification preferred; backflow certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing and maintenance of water-based sprinkler systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and fire codes.
• Conduct system tests for leaks using appropriate equipment.
• Complete service documentation detailing findings.
• Coordinate between inspection deficiencies and required service.
• Communicate status and delays to Service Manager or Inspections Coordinator.

Ocala, FLSummaryResponsible for testing and inspection of fire sprinkler systems, looking for deficiencies, troubleshooting existing conditions, reading and interpreting blueprints and manuals consistent with experience level, ability to write detailed reports regarding inspection deficiencies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, installing and preventative maintenance water-based systems and/or sprinkler systems.Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications and fire codes.Perform system tests for leaks using air and liquid pressure equipment.Complete service documentation detailing findings as needed.Able to coordinate between inspection deficiencies and service required to correct found deficiencies.Communicate with Service Manager and/or Inspections Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of job to ensure that the customer receives the work per proposed scope.Additional Requirements:Pre-employment drug screen, Clean MVR, overtime and weekends may be required.Education and/or ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED; 2-3 years experience inspecting various types fire sprinkler systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
