Since 1990, Allstar Fire Protection Inc. has been Nashville’s and Chattanooga's trusted source for fire protection needs. We’ve expanded to Knoxville and Bowling Green, KY! As part of the Pye-Barker Fire & Safety family, we leverage over 100 employees and 40 service trucks to offer top-notch service.

This position involves performing building sprinkler inspections, testing devices, recording results, and generating reports. You will assist the Lead Inspector and/or Inspection Manager in collecting data and preparing paperwork such as Sprinkler Inspection Reports, Quick Reports, and Inspection Certificates.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure timely and thorough completion of all inspections.
  2. Test building sprinkler control panels, devices, and system functions; record results using Palm handheld devices.
  3. Download information post-inspection and generate completed Sprinkler Inspection Reports.
  4. Participate in monthly team meetings.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education/Qualifications:
  • College Degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent accepted with relevant experience.
  • Learn NFPA standards for inspection and testing of fire protection systems; stay updated with codes and industry changes; obtain NICET certifications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; customer service oriented.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Sprinkler system experience is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency with test equipment such as sensitivity testers, multimeters, battery analyzers, sound level meters, and communication devices.
  • Computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Palm OS.
  • Reliable transportation to work sites.
  • Punctuality is critical, especially for sound tests before tenant arrivals.
Other Duties:
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Safety Policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
  • Work in industrial, commercial, and residential environments with noise and at heights.
  • Mostly physically demanding: standing, walking stairs, climbing ladders.
  • Lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Operate phone and computer throughout the day.
