Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC in Austin, TX, is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Inspector to inspect, test, service, and document fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes. This role requires a current RME‑I license and hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Current RME-I license required.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on fire sprinkler service and inspection experience.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 25 requirements and fire sprinkler codes.
• Ability to read sprinkler system plans and inspection documentation.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable working independently in the field.
• NICET certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled inspections and testing of commercial fire sprinkler systems.
• Inspect system components including control valves, alarm devices, waterflow devices, tamper switches, fire department connections, gauges, and related sprinkler equipment.
• Identify deficiencies, system impairments, and needed repairs during inspections.
• Perform or assist with sprinkler system service and repairs as required.
• Accurately document inspection results and complete required inspection reports and certificates.
• Ensure inspections are completed thoroughly, accurately, and within required timelines.
• Communicate inspection findings and recommended corrective actions to customers and internal teams.
• Maintain working knowledge of NFPA standards, local codes, and inspection requirements.
• Participate in team meetings and complete other related duties as assigned.

The Fire Sprinkler Inspector is responsible for inspecting, testing, servicing, and documenting fire sprinkler systems in accordance with applicable NFPA standards, local codes, and company requirements. This position requires strong hands‑on experience with fire sprinkler systems and a current RME‑I (Responsible Managing Employee – Inspector) license.

• Inspect system components including control valves, alarm devices, waterflow devices, tamper switches, fire department connections, gauges, and related sprinkler equipment.
• Identify deficiencies, system impairments, and needed repairs during inspections.
• Perform or assist with sprinkler system service and repairs as required.
• Accurately document inspection results and deficiencies and complete required inspection reports and certificates.
• Ensure inspections are completed thoroughly, accurately, and within required timelines.
• Communicate inspection findings and recommended corrective actions to customers and internal teams.
• Maintain working knowledge of NFPA standards, local codes, and inspection requirements.
• Participate in team meetings and complete other related duties as assigned.

• Working knowledge of applicable NFPA 25 requirements and fire sprinkler codes.
• Ability to read sprinkler system plans, inspection documentation, and equipment information.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate inspection records.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable working independently in the field while also supporting a team environment.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and electronic inspection/reporting software.
• Must be dependable and punctual due to scheduled customer inspections and testing requirements.
• NICET certification is preferred.

Pay range: $40-$49/hour.
