Atlantic Constructors, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Sprinkler Helper to assist the sprinkler fitter with assembling and installing fire protection sprinkler systems on various new construction job sites in Suffolk, VA.

The role involves installing pipe, inspecting systems, addressing deficiencies, and performing repairs as needed. Ideal candidates have at least 6 months in construction or sprinkler experience, knowledge of basic tools, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months construction or fire protection/sprinkler experience.
• Knowledge of basic tools and materials.
• Understands and practices the proper use of power and hand tools.
• Possesses basic math and computation skills.
• Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Must adhere to all company policy and procedures.
• Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, repairs, tests, adjusts and removes sprinkler systems.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Selects specified type and size of pipe; cuts, threads and hangs pipe.
• Assists in the installation of valves, couplings and other fittings.
• Assists in the lifting, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
• Follows proper construction practices and company policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
