Fire Sprinkler Fitter/Service Technician - Convergentz

Convergentz, a division of the Hunton Group, is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Fitter/Service Technician. In this role, you will perform installation, service, and repair of fire sprinkler systems, including simple projects like moves, adds, and changes, as well as full floor buildouts. You will also mentor junior technicians, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Install and service fire sprinkler systems, including new installations, retrofits, and tenant improvements.
• Support and guide other field technicians.
• Read and interpret blueprints for fire sprinkler piping installation.
• Cut, thread, and groove pipes using appropriate tools.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on various fire sprinkler systems.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience installing fire sprinkler systems.
• Knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action systems.
• Familiarity with backflow prevention and fire pump systems is a plus.
• Experience with underground piping installation is advantageous.
• Understanding of NFPA 13 and 20 codes.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.
• Proficiency with industry-standard pipe fitting tools.
• Ability to train others on tool use.
• Knowledge of fire protection industry standards.
• Understanding of OSHA safety standards.
