Job summary

Century Fire Protection is seeking a Field Technician to install, assemble, and maintain fire sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and multi-family projects in Georgia. You will read plans, interpret blueprints, and follow NFPA standards to ensure safe, compliant installations.

In this field-based role, you will work with foremen and trades on site, use hand and power tools, and participate in safety training and inspections to uphold quality and performance on busy construction sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 1–5 years in fire sprinkler installation or pipefitting.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and ability to read technical drawings/blueprints.
• NICET certification or trade-related training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and maintain fire sprinkler piping, fittings, and devices according to plans and specifications.
• Cut, thread, bend, and join pipes using hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Assist with pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning of sprinkler systems.
• Coordinate with foremen, other trades, and field personnel to ensure project schedule adherence.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and maintain fire sprinkler piping, fittings, and devices according to plans and specifications
• Cut, thread, bend, and join pipes using hand and power tools
• Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Assist with pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning of sprinkler systems
• Coordinate with foremen, other trades, and field personnel to ensure project schedule adherence

Qualifications

• Note: Education and/or Experience: High school diploma and 1–5 years of experience in fire sprinkler installation or pipefitting; knowledge of fire sprinkler installation practices and NFPA standards; ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints; strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills; NICET certification or trade-related training preferred.

Physical Demands

Field-based role at active construction and retrofit sites; requires endurance for extended periods of repetitive movements and moderate physical exertion; frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching; ability to climb ladders, stairs, or scaffolding and working at heights as needed; manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment; good visual and auditory acuity to safely handle inventory, read labels, and follow instructions; work in confined spaces and variable weather conditions; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly; exposure to noise, dust, and construction environments; ability to tolerate working in varying environmental conditions, including temperature fluctuations; overtime may be required.
