Chesapeake Fire Protection in Ashburn, VA is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to create code-compliant, constructible designs. You will develop layouts, hydraulics, and material specs while coordinating with PMs, engineers, and field teams to move projects from concept to installation.

Responsibilities include shop drawings, submittals, and permit packages; you will stay current with NFPA standards and industry best practices, enabling successful project execution.

Qualifications

• NFPA standards knowledge and ability to apply them to designs.
• Proficiency in hydraulics calculations for sprinkler systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Experience coordinating with project teams and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Create fire sprinkler system layouts and hydraulic calculations.
• Design systems for commercial, industrial, and multi-family projects.
• Ensure designs meet NFPA standards and local codes.
• Review drawings and coordinate with architects, engineers, PMs.
• Prepare submittals, shop drawings, and permits.
• Support field teams to resolve constructability issues.
• Maintain design documentation and participate in reviews.
