Job summary

Wiginton Fire Systems is looking for an Associate Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our growing Design team in Norcross, GA. This role suits someone with CAD experience or a strong technical background who is ready to develop a long-term career in fire protection design.

As part of our 100% employee-owned company, you will help develop accurate sprinkler drawings, review plans, coordinate with architects and contractors, and support project documentation from design through installation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong computer and technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed fire sprinkler drawings using CAD and industry software.
• Read architectural plans, specs, and contract documents to understand project requirements.
• Participate in pre-design and pre-construction meetings.
• Coordinate sprinkler system layouts with architects, engineers, contractors, and other trades.
• Identify potential design conflicts and help develop solutions before field installation.
• Prepare material lists, submittals, drawings, and other project documentation.
• Assist with AHJ permit submissions.
• Support project schedules by completing drawings and design documentation within deadlines.
• Communicate with field personnel to ensure designs can be installed safely and efficiently; make drawing revisions based on project changes.
• Prepare as-built drawings and project closeout documentation.
• Continue developing knowledge of NFPA standards and hydraulic calculations.
