Cosco Fire Protection is seeking a CAD designer to support the Engineering department in creating detailed layouts and drawings for fire sprinkler systems. You will prepare multi-view drawings, verify dimensions, and enter revisions to the design database to ensure accurate field installation.
The role requires a bachelor’s degree plus 18–24 months in sprinkler system design, familiarity with NFPA 13, and CAD software proficiency. NICET 1 is a plus and a strong attention to detail is essential.
Uses CAD equipment to provide support to Engineering department by preparing routine layouts of fire sprinkler systems, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for installation. Make copies of drawings and maintains information regarding changes to database. Makes simple decisions but refers most questions / problems to lead designers or chief engineer. Solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with design and fire sprinkler terminology. Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.

Bachelors degree and 18 to 24 months related experience and/or training in the design of fire alarm, water, foam and gas delivery systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of CAD Design software and Micro Soft Office products Word Processing software.
