Job summary

The Hiller Companies, LLC has an immediate opening for a Fire Sprinkler Designer. This role focuses on CAD-based design of fire sprinkler systems, ensuring accuracy in drawings and layouts while complying with NFPA standards and project requirements.

You will work with a team to coordinate piping, perform hydraulic calculations, and interpret construction documents to support safe, compliant fire protection solutions.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed designs of fire sprinkler systems using SprinkCAD CAD software.
• Coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components.
• Perform hydraulic calculations.
• Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Interpret and apply NFPA standards to the design and/or layout of the sprinkler systems based on building type, construction type, hazard classifications, and architectural features.
• Communicate with AHJs, contractors, and other trades.
• Coordinate with team members for listing of required materials.
• Coordinate with team members for permitting and inspection requirements.
• Actively participate in predesign and review meetings.
• Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and quality improvement.
• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures to ensure all duties are performed in a safe and professional manner.
• Provide outstanding customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

A Fire Sprinkler Designer is responsible for using computer-aided design (CAD) to create detailed drawings and layouts, calculate dimensions and material requirements. The designer's role is to assist in the creation of functional and well-designed products and structures by translating design concepts into accurate technical plans.

• Coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components.
