Fire Sprinkler Contract Sales / Change Order Specialist - Experienced

Location: Brea, CA

The LA/Orange District office of Cosco Fire Protection offers a challenging and growth-oriented opportunity for the right entrepreneurial individual. We seek a motivated team player with local construction community relationships to expand our market presence in LA and Orange County. A strong background in construction change orders is highly desirable. Job Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement sales goals and plans: Collaborate with District Management to develop and execute strategies to meet sales targets.
  2. Identify and qualify projects: Foster relationships with local customers resulting in tangible sales opportunities.
  3. Engage prospects: Contact potential buyers for new construction and service contracts through sales calls, follow-ups, and marketing strategies.
  4. Maintain customer relationships: Provide quotations, anticipate needs, resolve concerns, and offer technical support.
  5. Prepare proposals: Develop layouts, estimates, calculations, quotations, and proposals.
  6. Process contracts and proposals: Ensure timely processing and information transfer to operations staff for turnover and billing.
  7. Estimate small projects: Include service work and day-work as needed.
  8. Mentor change coordinators: Investigate extra work issues and establish cost recovery avenues.
  9. Understand contractual documents: Read and interpret joint venture, partnership agreements, purchase orders, technical drawings, standards, and codes.
  10. Manage change orders: Develop client or engineering change orders in accordance with contractual agreements.
  11. Review project documentation: Analyze RFIs, NCRs, DCNs, and specification deviations.
  12. Develop back charges and estimates: Prepare backup documentation for back charges and cost recovery.
  13. Interface with teams: Maintain relationships with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Subcontracts, QC, Accounting, Vendors, and Clients.
  14. Handle contractual documents: Prepare documents for budget transfer or cost recovery.
  15. Oversee daily change management activities.
Qualifications:
  • At least 4 years of fire sprinkler sales and/or change order management experience.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, sprinkler system designs, and NFPA codes.
  • Proven leadership, negotiation skills, and sales achievements.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, Bluebeam, etc.
