Job summary

Symons Fire Protection, Inc. seeks an on-site Fire Sprinkler Installer with 2+ years of hands-on experience.

You will read blueprints, install residential and commercial sprinkler systems, and ensure compliance with NFPA 13, 13R, and 13D standards while maintaining safety and high-quality workmanship on active construction sites. Requirements include OSHA 10, Blaze Master Training eligibility within 90 days, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of hands-on fire sprinkler installation or construction trade experience.
  • Current OSHA 10 Card (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
  • Able to obtain Blaze Master Installation Training Card (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English for safety instructions.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work on active construction sites.
  • Comfortable working outdoors with noise, heights, and ladders.

Responsibilities

  • Install residential and commercial fire sprinkler systems safely.
  • Read plans, blueprints, and layouts accurately.
  • Build, modify, and troubleshoot piping networks per NFPA standards.
  • Own the jobsite with independent, productive, clean workmanship.

What You’ll Do
  • Install Systems: Safely install residential (CPVC/plastic) and commercial (steel) fire sprinkler systems.
  • Read Plans: Interpret blueprints, construction plans, and layouts accurately.
  • Build & Troubleshoot: Install, modify, and troubleshoot fire sprinkler piping networks according to NFPA 13, 13R, and 13D standards.
  • Own the Jobsite: Work independently while maintaining high productivity and clean craftsmanship.
  • Communicate: Represent Symons professionally when talking with builders, inspectors, and jobsite superintendents.
Compensation
  • $21.25 – $35.00 per hour (Dependent on experience)
Qualifications
What You’ll Need (Job Requirements)
  • Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on fire sprinkler installation or construction trade experience with a proven ability to read blueprints
  • Credentials:
  • Current OSHA 10 Card (or willingness to obtain one within the first 90 days of employment)
  • Able to obtain Blaze Master Installation Training Card (or willingness to obtain one within the first 90 days of employment).
  • Core Skills: Strong communication skills (must be able to read, write, and speak English for jobsite safety instructions), reliable attendance, and basic familiarity using mobile devices for field tracking.
  • Driving: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record (needed to operate company vehicles).
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 100 pounds; stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders throughout the workday; safely operate hand and power tools; and distinguish colors for accurate system component identification.
  • Work Environment: Comfortable working on active residential and commercial construction sites, which includes exposure to outdoor weather, loud noise levels, working at heights/ladders, and moving mechanical equipment.
