Job summary

The City of Henderson invites applications for the Fire Services Assistant (Part-Time) in the Henderson Fire Department. An eligibility list may be used to fill vacancies for up to one year.

Under supervision, you will perform routine tasks and assist in administration, training, and logistics, contributing to day-to-day departmental operations and public safety services.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school, or the equivalent.
• Any training and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform satisfactorily on the job.
• Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483.
• Desirable: Enrollment in an accredited fire science program or fire science related classes.

Responsibilities

• Under immediate supervision, performs a variety of routine tasks while assisting in the administration, training, or logistics areas of the Fire Department; and performs related duties as assigned.
• Supports department operations in scheduling, logistics, and training activities as needed.

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill four (4) vacancies for the classification of Fire Services Assistant (Part-Time) in the Henderson Fire Department. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under immediate supervision, performs a variety of routine tasks while assisting in the administration, training, or logistics areas of the Fire Department; and performs related duties as assigned.

Position Information

• This is a part-time position.
• The list established from this recruitment may be used to fill both Non-PERS eligible (19 hours/week) and PERS eligible (29 hours/week) vacancies.
• This position does not qualify for employer-paid benefits.
