Job summary
Won-Door Corporation seeks an Installation Technician trainee in the Los Angeles, CA area to train as a Journeyman Commercial Installer. Under the supervision of a Won-Door installer, you learn on the job while assisting with installation and servicing life-saving fire and security doors.
Technicians work from home with their own trucks, and jobs are dispatched from Won-Door's Salt Lake City, Utah headquarters.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in commercial construction preferred.
- Proven experience in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of equipment safely and professionally.
- Assist with maintenance of automatic door systems.
- Learn to diagnose faults and determine causes.
- Read installation/service schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Coordinate with dispatch to maximize labor efficiency.
- Use hand and power tools in OSHA-compliant way.
- Complete work orders using computer-based documentation.
- Maintain a professional image when interacting with customers.
- Collaborate with parts and sales teams; report issues promptly.
- Travel regularly; overnight travel required.
- Train and support new technicians when needed.
- Drive safely to job sites and comply with safety programs.
- Perform work in diverse environments, including outdoor exposure.
