Applications are being accepted for the position of Fire Science Instructor. This position will work Monday to Friday 7:30-4:00.

Position Summary: Under general supervision the Fire Sciences Instructor will prepares students for careers in firefighting, emergency response, and public safety. Students also learn about fire protection history, public safety regulations, budgeting, and community relations. Hands-on experience builds the skills needed to protect and serve as a firefighter, fire inspector, EMT, or paramedic.

Job Type: Full Time, 10 Month Calendar

Salary:
$50,651.01-$86,896.01 Placement in the range will be based on a combination of education, industry related experience, teaching experience, and certification.

EVIT matches the retirement contribution dollar for dollar.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Arizona, IFSAC or Pro Board certification as Firefighter I & II
  • Three years of firefighter experience
  • Fire Instructor I
  • HazMat Certified
  • Certified NREMT and/or Paramedic
  • Be able to obtain an Arizona Department of Education Career and Technical Education certificate in Industrial and Emerging Technologies. More details are available on the Arizona Department of Education Website.
  • Level 1 IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Fire Science or closely related field
  • Fire Instructor II
  • EMT/Paramedic Instructor
  • Ten or more years working in a municipal or city fire department.
