The University of Texas at Arlington seeks a Fire & Life Safety Technician to support the EH&S Office with inspections, testing, and maintenance of portable extinguishers and fire pumps. The role ensures compliance with NFPA 10 and NFPA 25 and helps keep campus safety systems in optimal working order.
Responsibilities include monthly inspections, coordinating recharges with external vendors, documenting activities, and responding to alarms as needed.
Salary
The annual salary for this position ranges from $37,600 to $47,000. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
Support the Environmental Health & Safety Office with the Fire and Life Safety programs and services. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for inspections, testing, and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers and conducting no-flow (churn) tests on fire pumps to ensure they are in optimal working condition. Among other duties, this role ensures that all fire extinguishers and fire pumps are in proper working condition and comply with safety requirements in accordance with NFPA 10 and NFPA 25 standards.
