Job Responsibilities
  1. Maintain 24-hour response capability for emergency calls involving aircraft, structural, vehicular, medical, and other incidents.
  2. Protect evidence and perform salvage and overhaul of fire scenes.
  3. Participate in required training standards including IFSAC, NFPA, CFETP, Grants, and MCA policies, as well as state and local requirements.
  4. Perform fire control center duties, ensuring continuous communication with fire department personnel, vehicles, and other agencies.
  5. Conduct fire prevention inspections of base facilities for code compliance.
  6. Inspect new and existing construction, stationary/mobile equipment, fire extinguishers, hydrants, and alarm/suppression systems.
  7. Perform daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure proper operation and identify damages or deficiencies.
  8. Stay proficient in vehicle and equipment operations, perform minor maintenance, and control corrosion as needed.
  9. Maintain good housekeeping during shifts according to policies and schedules.
  10. Perform ground upkeep as required.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State driver’s license.
  • Meet professional qualifications per NFPA 1001 (Firefighter I/II), NFPA 1072 (Hazmat Awareness/Operations), and other certifications within 12 months of employment.
  • Pass an annual medical exam per NFPA 1582 standards.
Additional Comments

Employees must obtain a U.S. Air Force Motor Vehicle Operator's card during training and complete annual Flight line Driver's Training. Ability to meet NFPA-1582 physical standards, wear SCBA, and pass background checks are required.
