Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; or an Associate's/Bachelor's Degree in safety-related field.
• Experience: 5 years related safety experience with HS diploma; 3 years with Associate's degree; or other combinations as detailed in the posting.
• Preferred: Professional certification pertinent to safety specialty.

Responsibilities

• Investigates safety and environmental incidents, identifying causes and prevention actions.
• Ensures employee health & safety standards are met across the organization.
• Performs surveys of laboratories and facilities for safety compliance.
• Identifies hazards, prepares reports, and mitigates deficiencies.
• Ensures proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
• Provides safety training to departments.
• Position is essential and may require after-hours on-call work.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
