Job Description for Fire Protection Technician

Professional Fire Protection Systems is seeking full-time technicians of all levels in Fire Protection, Fire Alarm, and Fire Suppression at our locations in Hampton Roads, Newport News, and Richmond, VA. The role involves inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, deluge, preaction), back flows, extinguishers, emergency lights, kitchen suppression systems, fire alarm systems, special hazards, and fire and life safety systems. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting at various commercial, industrial, and residential sites, ensuring adherence to fire protection codes and standards.

Qualifications include:

  • Skills in Fire Extinguisher and Fire Suppression Systems
  • Knowledge of Life Safety and Fire Safety protocols
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities
  • Effective communication skills for customer interactions
  • Experience in fire protection systems
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards
  • Attention to detail and ability to work well in a team
  • Certifications such as NICET, DPOR, BACKFLOW are a plus
  • OSHA certification
