American Electric Power (AEP) seeks an entry-level Fire Protection Technician to join the Fire Protection Department at the Cook Nuclear Plant. The role involves supporting Fire Brigade, Hazmat Team, and Confined Space Rescue while implementing day-to-day fire prevention activities.
Responsibilities include passing required physical exams and tests, completing OJT, conducting inspections, and maintaining emergency equipment.
This is an entry level position to become a qualified member of the Fire Protection Department. Fire Protection performs the following functions: Fire Brigade, Hazmat Team, and Confined Space Rescue, and the day-to-day implementation of fire prevention activities in an industrial setting.

Compensation Grade: N006-817
Compensation Range: $26.36 - $27.14
The Physical Demand Level for this job is: H – Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
