Job Summary

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a Fire Protection Sprinkler Designer responsible for designing layouts using AutoCAD/HydraCAD and creating hydraulic calculations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and layout of fire sprinkler systems
• Analyze and interpret contract documents, construction drawings, and specifications
• Prepare and deliver presentations to individuals and groups
• Perform hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis
• Develop relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction
• Create fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, AutoSprink, and Revit
• Engage in BIM modeling and field surveying
• Generate fabrication lists and coordinate between trades
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business discipline (preferred), such as Architectural, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and mathematical skills with attention to detail
• Knowledge of hydraulic calculations and blueprint reading
• Adaptability to changing environments and managing multiple priorities
• Availability to travel to client sites as needed
• Reliable attendance, with willingness to work extended hours and weekends
