Qualifications

• 3 years of AutoCAD experience (preferably Revit).

Fire Protection / Life Safety Systems Designer (Phoenix, AZ / Western Region U.S)

Join us to apply for the Fire Protection / Life Safety Systems Designer (Phoenix, AZ / Western Region U.S) role at Jacobs.

We are seeking a Fire Protection / Life Safety Systems (LSS) Designer passionate about working on projects that support our clients' core operations. This hybrid role is based in Tempe, AZ, but qualified candidates in the western U.S. are also encouraged to apply.

In this position, you'll work on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, data centers, and other advanced facilities. You'll be part of a dynamic team delivering world-class designs for renowned clients globally. Your responsibilities will include computer-aided drafting and designing of Life Safety and Security Systems for these facilities.

Our LSS Designers coordinate with multidisciplinary engineers and design leads to deliver complex packages. Using AutoCAD and Revit MEP, you'll create 3D models in collaboration with architects and engineers, developing layouts for Fire Alarm Detection, HPM leak detection, Toxic Gas Management, Security, and Intrusion Detection systems.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 3 years of AutoCAD experience (preferably Revit)
• Experience with Fire Alarm Systems, Voice Evacuation, Gas Detection, VESDA, Access Control, and CCTV

Ideally, candidates will also have:

• 3-5 years of life safety systems design experience
• Knowledge of IFC, IBC, NFPA 70, NFPA 101, NFPA 72
• Understanding of Fire/Life Safety systems and manufacturers’ equipment
• Industrial design experience
• Autodesk Certification Professional (ACP) or equivalent certifications
