Job Title: Fire Protection Inspector

The primary function of this role is to perform NFPA-based inspections of water-based fire systems and fire alarm systems. The goal is to grow inspection revenues while maintaining profits, satisfying customer requirements, and staying NFPA compliant. This role requires the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with a focus on customer development, quality work, and NFPA code knowledge. Travel to customer sites will be required.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

1. Perform basic troubleshooting of wet-based fire systems and communicate findings for repairs.
2. Perform inspections from man lifts at elevations of 30 to 40 feet, as necessary.
3. Conduct annual inspections on domestic and fire backflows.
4. Monitor and ensure progress and completion of all tasks.
5. Complete and submit work tickets and inspection reports promptly.
6. Manage self-scheduling of daily inspections.

Qualifications

To succeed, candidates must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily. The following are preferred qualifications:

• NFPA 25 inspections on various fire systems and fire pumps.
• NFPA 72 inspections on fire alarm systems.
• High school diploma or GED; vocational or trade school is a plus.
• Knowledge of fire protection systems: wet, dry, foam, deluge, pre-action, standpipe, fire hydrants, fire pumps.
• Backflow license and NICET Level II are advantages.
• Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Ability to obtain necessary certifications, including NICET.
• Physical ability to lift at least 35 pounds.

Computer Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
