Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of undergrad in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Basic understanding of building codes and standards.
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt.
• Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with team members across disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with fire protection system design, including sprinklers, alarms, smoke control, and suppression systems.
• Support fire risk assessments and hazard analyses under the guidance of licensed fire protection engineers.
• Review building codes and standards, including NFPA and IBC, for project compliance.
• Review construction drawings and specifications for code compliance.
• Assist with engineering calculations, including hydraulic analysis and smoke control.
• Participate in site visits and inspections to observe system installations.
• Gain exposure to the variety of project types and teams across the firm.

Education

3+ years of undergrad in mechanical engineering or related field

Basic understanding of building codes and standards

Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Bluebeam
