Job summary

Heartline Staffing is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer in Charlotte, NC for a full-time, in-office role with flexibility. The candidate will lead fire protection and plumbing design for healthcare facilities, ensuring code compliance and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements include a PE license, FPE credential, 8+ years in the field, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Trace 3D. Travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

Licensed PE with FPE license and healthcare project background.
ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD MEP and Trace 3D.
Willingness to travel up to 20% and work in Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities

Lead the design of fire protection and plumbing systems for healthcare projects.
Design automatic sprinkler layouts and perform fire pump sizing.
Develop construction drawings and specs for healthcare facilities.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership as Engineer of Record.
Ensure NFPA, IBC, and ASHRAE compliance across designs.
