Job summary

MIRACORP in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to lead the design and safety of critical fire protection systems. You will provide technical leadership in design, inspection, testing, and compliance, ensuring adherence to NFPA codes while supporting facility teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering and an active PE license in Fire Protection Engineering, with at least five years of relevant experience in fire alarm and suppression systems.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in Fire Protection Engineering.
• Minimum five years of relevant engineering experience.
• Minimum three years of fire alarm and fire suppression system experience.
• Travel required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate fire protection systems (alarm, detection, sprinkler, suppression, fire pumps).
• Perform hydraulic calculations, system layouts, and equipment selection.
• Review A/E and contractor drawings for compliance with codes and NFPA standards.
• Conduct inspections, testing, fire hazard analyses, and field surveys.
• Develop life safety plans and fire safety programs.
• Prepare technical reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide guidance to project teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Support performance-based design using fire modeling and egress analysis.
• Deliver training and support system installation, maintenance, and upgrades.
