Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer for our Philadelphia team. You will design and lead fire suppression, life safety, and code analysis on complex, multidisciplinary building projects.

Requirements include a PE license, a bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection or related field, 5+ years’ experience, and AutoCAD/Revit proficiency. We offer a hybrid schedule, strong benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related discipline.
PE license required.
5+ years of fire protection engineering experience.
Experience with the analysis and design of building fire protection and life safety systems.
Strong knowledge of fire suppression/sprinkler systems.
Experience with fire alarm and detection systems.
Experience with life safety and building/fire code analysis.
Working knowledge of IBC, IFC, NFPA 101, NFPA 13, NFPA 72, and related codes and standards.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Ability to coordinate fire protection design with other architectural and engineering disciplines.
Strong technical, analytical, communication, and project management skills.
Candidates with mechanical or plumbing background may be considered if extensive fire protection experience available.
CFD/fire modeling experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and develop fire suppression/sprinkler and fire alarm systems for complex building projects.
Prepare and review fire protection and life safety construction documents.
Develop code studies and life safety plans.
Perform building and fire code analysis using IBC/IFC/NFPA standards.
Evaluate site water supplies for suppression systems.
Assist with egress, construction types, and life safety considerations.
Coordinate protection design with other disciplines.
Review sprinkler and fire alarm shop drawings.
Interact with AHJs and code officials to resolve issues.
Participate in client and stakeholder meetings.
Assist with CFD fire modeling and egress modeling as applicable.
Provide technical guidance throughout design and construction.
Perform site visits and support construction administration.
