Job summary

The Building People, LLC, seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support Department of Defense facility control system projects. This full-time role provides a PE stamp where required, ensures designs meet codes, develops calculations and drawings, and leads testing and commissioning of fire protection and life safety systems.

This position collaborates with project managers, designers, field teams and authorities to ensure compliant, reliable systems.

Qualifications

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Fire Protection Engineer - Department of Defense. The Fire Protection Engineer represents the company on fire alarm and life safety engineering for facility control system projects. The FPE provides a Professional Engineering stamp where required, ensures designs and installations conform to applicable codes and criteria, develops and reviews calculations and drawings, leads acceptance testing and commissioning, and supports integration of fire alarm systems within broader Industrial Control System environments. This role supports a Department of Defense mission and coordinates closely with project managers, designers, field teams, and authorities having jurisdiction to deliver compliant, reliable systems.
