Job summary
Valar Atomics is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to design, analyze, and implement fire protection systems for reactor buildings and facilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to move new facilities from concept to production, serving as a domain expert on fire-related issues.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s in engineering and 1+ years of experience in fire protection design and construction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of experience in the design and construction of fire protection systems.
- PE license or NICET certification is preferred for seniority.
Responsibilities
- Support design and calculations for facility fire protection and life-safety systems.
- Develop building and fire code compliance documents for offices and reactor facilities.
- Perform hazardous material analysis and inventory management for code compliance.
- Assist field teams with on-site solutions during construction.
- Support commissioning activities for reactor facility builds.
- Conduct fire/life-safety code reviews and analyses.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Review contractor shop drawings and provide technical comments.
