Job summary

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Fire Protection Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027 at our Westminster, CO office. The role offers hands-on exposure to fire protection engineering projects and mentorship from our engineering team.

The ideal candidate is pursuing an accredited engineering degree, has completed at least two years of coursework, and can commit to up to 40 hours per week during the summer, with reliable transportation to and from the Westminster office.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a full-time student in an engineering program (fire protection, mechanical, civil, architectural engineering, etc.) at a nationally recognized, accredited college.
• Two years of required courses completed towards an undergraduate engineering degree.
• Demonstrates knowledge of, and interest in, fire protection engineering.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail orientated and organized.
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer break. Flexibility for school schedule/demands will be provided.
• Reliable transportation is strongly preferred, as the role will involve commuting to our office as well as occasional attendance at off-site meetings and job walks.
