Job summary

Shambaugh & Son, L.P. is seeking a Fire Protection Sprinkler Designer in Aurora, Illinois. You will design sprinkler layouts, create hydraulic calculations, and provide fire sprinkler designs using AutoCAD and other tools.

Ideal candidates will have a relevant degree or equivalent experience, as well as strong analytical skills. The role includes developing customer relationships, responsible attendance, and may involve traveling to client sites. A competitive salary package with benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and mathematical aptitude, with attention to detail.
• Good working knowledge of hydraulic calculations and ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities under time constraints.
• Flexible to be available as needed to travel to client sites.
• Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing and the layout of Fire Sprinkler systems.
• Read, analyze and interpret contract documents.
• Write, plan, coordinate and present to individuals and groups.
• Work with mathematical concepts including hydraulic calculations.
• Develop positive relationships with customers.
• Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, AutoSprink, and Revit.
• Responsible for BIM modeling and field surveying.
• Provide lists for fabrication and coordinate between the trades.
