Job summary

HDR in Charlotte, NC seeks a Fire Protection Designer/EIT to join our employee-owned team. You will assist on fire protection design portions under the direction of a Senior Fire Protection Engineer, and coordinate with clients.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, and an EIT, or active pursuit. A minimum of two years’ Fire & Life Safety design experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture is required.
• At least two years of Fire & Life Safety design experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist on fire protection portions of projects under the direction of a Senior Fire Protection Engineer.
• Meet with clients and contractors.
• Interpret engineering data for designers and drafters.
• Check drawings for accuracy and completeness; promote designer progress.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines and consultants.
• Review codes and summarize applicable requirements.
