Qualifications
Previous experience in the Fire Protection Industry is required.
Previous experience as a Design Engineer.
Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD 2D drafting.
Knowledge and efficient use of 3D design software.
Understanding of MS Office applications.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to communicate technical information.
Desire to learn industry standards.
Willingness to study for and obtain NICET certification.
Responsibilities
Design life safety and asset protection systems using AutoCAD.
Direct contractors in proper system installation and operation.
Survey job sites for proper system design.
Read and implement customer-supplied project specifications.
Attend manufacturer training and continued education.
Create project-specific operation and maintenance manuals.
Update existing drawings.
Assist office staff with engineering-related tasks.
Assist with system inspection and maintenance.
Assist in system startups and commissioning.
