Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Field Project Manager for the Fire division to lead complex installations in commercial, educational, healthcare, and industrial facilities. You will establish local project offices, define scope, manage risk, and coordinate resources to deliver on-time projects with high quality.

The role requires a high school diploma, PM/NICET- or Fire/Life Safety-related certifications, and strong MS Office/Excel skills with travel readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate/diploma in Fire & Life Safety, Electrical/Electronic, or Security. Certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred.
• PM certification expected within two years; NICET Level II within one year.
• Proficient in MS Office; ability to create and reference Excel data and macros.
• Frequent local travel required.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex fire alarm, security, and comms install projects across various facilities.
• Set up local project offices, define scope, assess risk, and allocate resources.
• Manage schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction; report updates to management.
• Ensure projects close on time and within scope; manage change orders.

• Coordinate with teams to meet budgets and timelines.

What you will do

As a Field Project Manager, for our Fire division, you will lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects in commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and military facilities. Responsible for setup of local project offices, project scope definition, risk identification, projectmethodology, resource allocation, and facilitation. Manages schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer expectations/satisfaction. Presentsto management and/or customers on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. Ensures projects are closed on time and in scope.

How you will do it

• Coordinates and communicates project progression frominceptionto completion including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation.

• Develops a comprehensive project plan to meet schedules and budgets. Conducts Work in Progress meetings.

• Understands and follows all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications.

• EnsuresAHJrequirements and departmental/SOX procedures are followed.

• Coordinates change orders and works toward overall margin improvement on every job.

What we look for

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Certificate or diploma in a related field (Fire & Life Safety, Electrical/Electronic; Security). Certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred.

• Expectation thatProjectManagement Professional certification will be obtained within two years of employment in the position.

• NICETLevel II must be obtained within one year of employment.

• Proficient inMSOffice applications (Excel, Project). Ability to create Excel spreadsheets, reference data in other spreadsheets, and create macros isrequired.

• Available for frequent local travel.

Preferred

• 5 years’ installation experience in Fire, Electrical, or Security systems.

• Project management experience.

HIRING SALARY RANGE

HIRING SALARY RANGE : $76,100 - $104,600 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
