Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Field Project Manager for its Fire division in Ohio. You will lead installation projects across commercial, educational, healthcare, and industrial facilities.

You will set up project offices, define scope, manage risk, and ensure schedule, cost, safety, and quality targets are met. Regular updates to management and customers are expected, with projects closed on time and in scope.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certificate or diploma in Fire & Life Safety, Electrical/Electronic, or Security preferred.
  • PM certification to be obtained within two years of employment.
  • NICET Level II within one year of employment.
  • Proficient in MS Office; Excel skills and macros helpful.
  • Willingness to frequent local travel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects in diverse facilities.
  • Set up local project offices, define scope, identify risk, establish methodology; allocate resources.
  • Manage schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction; present updates to management/customers.
  • Ensure projects are closed on time and within scope.
  • Coordinate and communicate progression from inception to completion, including design, permits, materials, and labor schedules.
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan to meet schedules and budgets; conduct Work in Progress meetings.
  • Follow all codes, standards, and project specifications; ensure AHJ requirements and SOX procedures.

What you will do

As a Field Project Manager, for our Fire division, you will lead complex fire alarm, security, and communications installation projects in commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and military facilities. Responsible for setup of local project offices, project scope definition, risk identification, projectmethodology, resource allocation, and facilitation. Manages schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer expectations/satisfaction. Presentsto management and/or customers on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. Ensures projects are closed on time and in scope.

  • Coordinates change orders and works toward overall margin improvement on every job.
What we look for
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certificate or diploma in a related field (Fire & Life Safety, Electrical/Electronic; Security). Certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred.
  • Expectation thatProjectManagement Professional certification will be obtained within two years of employment in the position.
  • NICETLevel II must be obtained within one year of employment.
  • Proficient inMSOffice applications (Excel, Project). Ability to create Excel spreadsheets, reference data in other spreadsheets, and create macros isrequired.
  • Available for frequent local travel.
Preferred
  • 5 years' installation experience in Fire, Electrical, or Security systems.
  • Project management experience.
HIRING SALARY RANGE

$76,100 - $104,525 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
