Job summary

Johnson Controls in Canton, MA is seeking an on-site Construction Coordination Specialist to support installation and project management teams. You will help coordinate disciplines, source equipment, and schedule manpower to meet project milestones.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong MS Office skills, a valid driver’s license, and experience coordinating construction projects. An onsite position with a competitive hourly wage is offered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate multiple discipline projects from conception through final delivery.
• Provide support to Construction Manager, Project Manager, installers, design and sales teams.
• Coordinate delivery of installation documents & drawings.
• Order equipment and materials for projects.
• Assist in scheduling technicians and subcontractors.
• Coordinate delivery of close-out documents and permits.
• Assist in creating purchase orders and tracking project schedules.
• Monitor RFIs, change orders, and related documentation.

What you will do

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Installation Operations Manager and Project Managers with coordination, ordering/sourcing of equipment, scheduling of manpower and the following other duties as assigned.

How you will do it

• Coordinate & facilitate multiple discipline projects from conception through final delivery
• Provide support to Construction Manager, Project Manager, installers, design and sales team
• Coordinate delivery of installation documents & drawings
• Ordering of equipment & materials for projects
• Assist with coordination of delivery of equipment to the job site
• Assist in the scheduling of JHFP Fire Sprinkler Alarm Technicians
• Assist in the scheduling of sub-contractors for sub-contractor installed projects
• Coordinate delivery of close-out documents
• Coordination of Permitting Process
• Assist with the creation of purchase orders
• Procurement and verification of project schedules
• Assist with tracking of project RFI’s, change orders and other pertinent documentation

• 2 years construction coordination experience with construction projects preferred
• Ability to analyze complex problems, interprets operational needs, and develops integrated and creative solutions.
• Ability to assist in maintaining project budgets, projections and construction schedules
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong computer and related software application skills
• Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment
• Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $30-40 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
