Job summary

The U.S. Forest Service in Region 5 seeks an Assistant Director to the Director of Fire and Aviation Management (FAM).

The incumbent will oversee corporate fire programs and assist with preparing correspondence, reports, and related administrative tasks for external partners. The role includes supervising students and volunteers, managing training materials inventories, and performing a range of office duties using standard equipment and software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing correspondence relating to grants, agreements, memorandums of understanding and/or contracts between the agency and outside sources.
• Assist in performing periodic review of records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare reports using database and spreadsheet software, desktop publishing, and troubleshooting.
• Supervise students and volunteers in purchasing and stocking of course materials, classroom set-up, and course closeout activities for each course.
