An established industry player in New Orleans is seeking a dedicated Fire Prevention Inspector. This role involves conducting technical inspections to ensure compliance with fire prevention regulations and ordinances, as well as engaging in investigative work to determine the causes of fires. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire prevention or law enforcement, along with the necessary certifications. Technical inspection and law enforcement work to ensure compliance with city fire prevention regulations and ordinances and related Fire Department policies; investigative work to determine the origins and causes of fires as well as departmental investigations as directed by the Superintendent; public relations work in encouraging the use of fire prevention methods; and related work as required.(Promotional)
Current probationary status as a Fire Prevention Inspector, Recruit and six (6) months of experience in that classification.(Entrance)
A background check will be conducted on those candidates being considered for hire. Convictions for felonies or numerous misdemeanors may be disqualifying.

A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years.
