Job summary

Communications Engineering Company (CEC) is seeking a Systems Specialist to lead the physical installation of communications systems on project sites. You will oversee daily on-site work, guide a crew, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

This hands-on role offers growth through on-the-job training and industry certifications. You will review project details with the team and customers, perform site walk-throughs, and mentor colleagues to prevent recurring issues while handling basic

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technology experience at CEC or a similar company.
• 1+ years of leadership experience.
• Strong communication skills and a solid grasp of general construction or mechanical work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily install plan on-site, keeping the work safe, on schedule, and up to CEC's quality standards.
• Review project details, plans, and milestones with the team and the customer before work begins.
• Run site walk-throughs to confirm locations and identify safety hazards.
• Inspect installations, correct issues, and mentor team members so problems don't recur.
• Handle basic programming and configuration, and connect systems to the network as assigned.
• Build punch lists, test systems, coordinate customer training, and finalize documentation.
• Close out projects with customer walk-throughs and sign-off.
• Support service tickets and CEC's 24/7 on-call rotation as assigned.

As a Systems Specialist, you'll lead the physical installation of communications systems on project sites, including running the day-to‑day work, guiding a crew, and making sure every job meets CEC's standards for safety and quality.

What You'll Do

• Lead the daily install plan on-site, keeping the work safe, on schedule, and up to CEC's quality standards

• Run site walk‑throughs to confirm locations and identify safety hazards

Required

• 5+ years of technology experience at CEC or a similar company

• Strong communication skills and a solid grasp of general construction or mechanical work
• Knowledge of communications systems-audio, video, security, fire alarm, wireless, and data networks
• Comfortable with a Windows PC environment (Excel a plus)

Preferred

• Safety‑related certifications
• Industry certifications such as NICET, BICSI, or CTS
