Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree in fire science or related field preferred.
• Fire Inspector I and II certifications within 1 year of employment.
• CFPE within 2 years or as agreed in conditional offer.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections to ensure compliance with fire and life safety codes.
• Conduct on-site inspections of buildings and occupancies to assess hazards.
• Prepare inspection reports, plans, and permit-related documentation.
• Issue stop work orders and notices as required by ordinances and standards.
• Coordinate with NH Fire Marshal’s Office and other agencies as needed.
• Educate and inform public on fire prevention and life safety practices.
• Maintain accurate records and assist in plan reviews and investigations.
• Attend meetings and provide testimony as required.
