Job summary

Harvard Protection Services is seeking a Fire & Life Safety Director to lead security staff, maintain a visible facility presence, and enforce safety policies while ensuring top-tier service for clients and guests.

Responsibilities include coordinating emergency actions, inspecting fire safety devices, and preparing reports. Qualifications include licensure, high school diploma, and strong communication skills for a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold state or municipal security officer licenses.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have Fire Safety Directors license.
• Knowledge of fire inspection operations and procedures.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
• Experience in security, law enforcement, fire, military, or customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff and provide professional customer-focused security and life safety services.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility and monitor entrances and exits.
• Monitor the environment for suspicious or unsafe activity and enforce site policies.
• Coordinate emergency action planning, fire protection, and safety standards.
• Test and inspect fire extinguishers and fire protection devices as required.
• Prepare inspections, incident reports, and logs to support safety and compliance.
• Train staff and participate in fire drills and other safety activities.
