Job summary

International Proactive Security Inc. is seeking a Fire Life Safety Director (FLSD) for both full-time and part-time roles in Downtown Manhattan. The position oversees the Fire Command Center, coordinates with the NYC Fire Department, and conducts drills to ensure tenant and staff safety.

Flexible hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a probationary hourly rate of $27 and $28 afterward. Candidates must hold a FDNY Fire and Life Safety Director Certificate and a NYS Security Guard

Qualifications

• Valid FDNY Fire and Life Safety Director Certificate (F-89, T-89, or Z-89) issued by FDNY.
• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and emergency procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm and lead during emergencies.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
• Reliable transportation and flexible evening/weekend/holiday availability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate the Fire Command Center and building fire alarm systems.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and safety incidents.
• Implement and maintain the building’s Fire Safety and Emergency Action Plan.
• Coordinate emergency responses with NYC Fire Department and first responders.
• Conduct fire drills and safety training for staff and tenants.
• Maintain incident reports and inspection logs.
• Ensure compliance with NYC fire safety codes and regulations.
• Perform routine inspections of fire safety systems and equipment.

IPS is currently seeking a Fire Life Safety Director (FLSD) for a Full Time and Part Time positions.

Location

Downtown, Manhattan

Salary

$27.00 an hour during the initial 90-day probationary period, increasing to $28.00 an hour upon successful completion of the probation period.

Part Time Shift Available

Monday, Thursday and Friday: 4:00pm to 12:00am

Requirements
