Job summary

International Proactive Security Inc. seeks a Fire Life Safety Director for full-time and part-time roles in Downtown Manhattan. The position oversees the Fire Command Center, ensures fire safety compliance, and coordinates with NYC Fire Department.

Salary starts at $27.00 per hour during probation, rising to $28.00 after successful completion. Candidates must hold a valid FDNY Fire and Life Safety Director Certificate of Fitness and a NYS Security Guard License, with strong communication skills

Qualifications

• Valid FDNY Fire and Life Safety Director Certificate of Fitness (F-89, T-89, or Z-89) issued by NYC Fire Department.
• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and emergency procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and lead during emergency situations.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate the Fire Command Center and building fire alarm systems.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and safety incidents.
• Implement and maintain the building’s Fire Safety and Emergency Action Plan.
• Coordinate emergency responses with the NYC Fire Department and other first responders.
• Conduct fire drills and safety training for staff and tenants.
• Maintain accurate incident reports and inspection logs.
• Ensure compliance with NYC fire safety codes and regulations.
• Perform routine inspections of fire safety systems and equipment.

IPS is currently seeking a Fire Life Safety Director (FLSD) for a Full Time and Part Time positions.

Location: Downtown, Manhattan

Salary: $27.00 an hour during the initial 90-day probationary period, increasing to $28.00 an hour upon successful completion of the probation period.

Part Time Shift Available: Monday, Thursday and Friday: 4:00pm to 12:00am
