Job summary

International Proactive Security Inc (IPS) is seeking a Fire Life Safety Director for both full-time and part-time roles in Downtown Manhattan. The position involves managing the Fire Command Center, alarms, and coordination with the NYC Fire Department to ensure compliance with fire codes and safety procedures.

Salary starts at $27.00 per hour during a 90-day probation and increases to $28.00 per hour upon successful completion, with open availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Valid FDNY Fire Life Safety Director Certificate (F-89, T-89, or Z-89) issued by the NYC Fire Department.
• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and emergency procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead during emergencies while remaining calm.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate the Fire Command Center and building fire alarm systems.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and safety incidents.
• Implement and maintain the building’s Fire Safety and Emergency Action Plan.
• Coordinate emergency responses with the New York City Fire Department and other first responders.
• Conduct fire drills and safety training for staff and tenants.
• Maintain accurate incident reports and inspection logs.
• Ensure compliance with NYC fire safety codes and regulations.
• Perform routine inspections of fire safety systems and equipment.

IPS is currently seeking a Fire Life Safety Director (FLSD) for a Full Time and Part Time positions.

Location: Downtown, Manhattan.

Salary: $27.00 an hour during the initial 90-day probationary period, increasing to $28.00 an hour upon successful completion of the probation period.

Must have open availability.
