Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Fire & Life Safety Specialist to support the Fire & Life Safety Division across Duke University Health System properties. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and managing quality assurance related to Joint Commission Life Safety and Environment of Care programs.

Responsibilities include coordinating inspections, testing fire protection systems, and preparing regulatory reports, all while ensuring readiness for emergencies and adherence to federal, state, and

Qualifications

• Complete working knowledge of Joint Commission Life Safety and Environment of Care standards.
• Familiarity with NFPA Life Safety Code 101, NFPA 99.
• Ability to develop and deliver training programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document Joint Commission EoC and Life Safety Audits per NFPA standards.
• Prepare reports for each Joint Commission facility and coordinate inspections.
• Schedule and verify maintenance testing of fire protection systems.
• Assist in fire hydrants, sprinklers, and standpipes inspections and tests.
• Maintain records of inspections and participate in fire drills and training.
