Job summary

Obsidian is building a team to perform comprehensive fire and life-safety reviews on real drawings, plans, and site photos. You will produce egress analyses, correction lists, and plan review decisions under senior review.

The role targets fire marshal or fire protection designer reviewers with NICET III+ or PE in fire protection; 3+ years experience, US-based, familiarity with IBC/IFC/NFPA; 8+ years preferred. Pay is $45–$60 hourly, with growth as the project scales.

Qualifications

• Candidate holds or has held the seat that reviews fire and life safety design (e.g., fire marshal or plan reviewer).
• NICET Level III or higher or PE in fire protection; 3+ years in the seat; US-based.
• Experience with IBC, IFC and NFPA standards; 8+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform egress and life safety plan checks.
• Review fire alarm, sprinkler, and related systems from multiple stakeholders.
• Prepare correction language, SOPs, and plan review decisions.
