Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Fire Prevention Inspector at Radford Army Ammunition Plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of assigned vehicle.
  • Conduct Fire Prevention Inspections according to NFPA Standards, DODI 6055.6, 6055.06M, AR 420-1, CFR 1910.120. Address non-emergency hazardous conditions.
  • Collect technical information on buildings and facilities.
  • Research manuals, fire codes, and trade references to understand fire characteristics.
  • Exercise authority to shut down operations posing safety threats.
  • Conduct fire and life safety training, including fire prevention, detection, and suppression.
  • Provide fire warden training to ensure compliance with fire prevention regulations.
  • Document inspection findings and deficiencies in the data management system.
  • Inspect, track, and replace fire extinguishers as needed.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • US Citizen
  • At least 18 years old
  • No criminal record
  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • Certification as IFSAC/Pro-Board Fire Inspector II and in HazMat Awareness
  • Obtain Public Fire and Life Safety Educator 2 certification within 12 months of hire

WORKING CONDITIONS
