Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Inspector to perform routine inspections and testing on electrical and life-safety systems. You will document work, handle low-voltage wiring, and make minor repairs as needed.

A valid driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs are required, with shifts including weekends possible. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered, with NICET I targeted within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Follow a structured inspection schedule and input data on mobile devices.
• Carry/move equipment up to 70lbs and perform tasks in challenging positions.

What you will do

Inspectors are responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines as well as similar competitive manufacturers' product lines.

How you will do it

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems with existing and new customer base.
• Maintain proper documentation for work performed using tools provided
• Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices such as laptop computers and/or hard copy.
• Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.
• Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents via mobile device.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected.
• Must adhere to company safety policies and procedures
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs
• Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions; such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment
• Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer needs
• Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner & maintain a clean and safe work area

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $17-$23 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
